Assistance for Advanced Graduate Students Traveling to the Annual Conference
The ACLA has allocated funds to provide partial travel reimbursement
of up to $200 to advanced graduate students each year. Applicants
must be current members of the ACLA and be presenting a paper at the
annual conference. The ACLA is particularly concerned with helping
students who have no support for conference attendance from their
institutions or other sources, who incur substantial costs for travel
to and from the convention, and who have not received travel reimbursement
from the ACLA in a prior year. The ACLA can fund up to 40 students
per year. Regrettably we receive many more applications than we can
fund so this funding is by no means guaranteed. The above criteria
are used in selection, but we urge students to inquire at their own
institutions as well for travel support. Additionally, thanks to the
generosity of the friends and family of Haskell Block, a single grant
of up to $500 is awarded each year to an international graduate student
presenting a paper at the conference (learn
more about the Block grant).
Please Note: The deadline for travel grant applications has passed.
