The seminar seeks comparative world approaches to the vampire legend in literature, film, drama, visual art, and other genres. Presenters are welcomed to theorize aesthetic, cultural and political ramifications, exchangist, psychoanalytic, feminist, queer and notions informed ethnic studies. Possible iterations: Biblical and other Ancient literary texts, fiction (Phlegon of Tralles, Goethe, Coleridge, Stoker, Le Fanu, Dumas, Glišić, Féval, Nizet ), film (Murnau, Browning, Coppola, Herzog, Merhige), opera (Marschner), theatre (Dumas), visual art (Fuseli, Collier, Munch, Bouguereau).
