The Horst Frenz Prize Citations 2010

2010 Prize Winner:

Be it known that Yi-Ping Ong of Harvard University is the winner of the 2010 Horst Frenz Prize for the best presentation by a graduate student at the annual conference of the American Comparative Literature Association, which, in 2009, was held at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Yi-ping Ong's paper, "Towards a Life View: Nietzsche, Kierkegaard, and the Novel," is a meticulous exposition that advances the thesis that fictional narratives were seminal in the development of existential thought in Nietzsche and Kierkegaard; it is an exegesis that glints with insights, and illuminates our reading of Nietzsche, Kierkegaard, and the aesthetics of philosophy as well as the heuristics of the novel.

The American Comparative Literature Association takes pride is making this award to Yi-Ping Ong, and congratulates her on her outstanding achievement.
