ACLA Membership

The American Comparative Literature Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We rely on memberships to support our operations and to organize our annual conference, which benefits over 3,000 scholars each year. Membership payments also go toward reserving future conference sites, publishing a conference program, and offering travel grants and registration waivers.

Membership in ACLA brings with it many benefits and opportunities, including:

  • Participation in the Annual Meeting: Organize a seminar or present a paper in our annual conference, attend panels and workshops, and network with colleagues from around the world.

  • Professional Development: Take advantage of professional development resources including job listings, grants, prize awards, and workshops aimed at graduate students, early-career faculty, and members in careers beyond the tenure track. ACLA members can also subscribe to the International Comparative Literature Association (ICLA) for a discounted rate of $10/year.
