This panel centers Afro-Indigenous hemispheric connections across the Americas, framing them not as separate tracks but as deeply intertwined lineages of resistance and thought. Moving beyond traditional national boundaries, we explore how twentieth- and twenty-first-century Afro-descendant and Indigenous thinkers, artists, and activists have co-created a shared, decolonized critical space. By prioritizing comparative approaches, this panel explicitly maps how diverse geographies confront shared colonial legacies, tracing the fluid dialogues and intellectual alliances that define a hemispheric Afro-Indigenous framework. We welcome proposals that examine these hemispheric crosscurrents across the Caribbean, the Andean-Amazonian corridor, Mesoamerica, and the Southern Cone. We especially encourage submissions that deploy broad, analytically flexible approaches to trace the cultural, literary, and political networks connecting these regions.
