Pre-conference Workshop: "Publishing Your First Book" - Location TBD
REGISTRATION FOR THIS PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOP IS CLOSED. THE WORKSHOP IS NOW FILLED.
Organized by the ACLA Publications Committee, this workshop focuses on publishing a scholarly monograph for the first time. Topics include the difference between a dissertation and a book, presentations by authors and editors of university presses (TBA) focusing on preparing for a meeting with an editor, writing a book proposal, and the specific challenges and possibilities for publishing research that is multilingual and comparative. Part of the time in the workshop will be reserved for hands-on help with the nuts and bolts of preparing a proposal.
Participants are asked to submit a brief description of their book project, with a 300 word abstract and a brief table of contents (including chapter titles) no later than May 15 to Yogita Goyal (UCLA): [email protected]. Please make sure your subject line says: ACLA Pre-Conference Workshop. We will select the first 30 participants to apply who have a clear description of their first book project.
